Beth Ann Bovino
Chief Economist , U.S. Bank
As Chief Economist for U.S. Bank, Beth Ann Bovino builds on U.S. Bank’s existing economic research capabilities, supporting the bank’s client-facing businesses and economic scenario analysis. She supports treasury balance-sheet management activities, CCAR stress testing and CECL modeling processes.

Bovino has an extensive background in macroeconomic and financial analysis, and her career has spanned almost three decades supporting several government, financial and information organizations. Before working at U.S. Bank, she was the managing director and Chief North American economist (United States/Canada) at S&P Global. In this role, Bovino managed the forecasting operations for the North America economy and provided regular commentary on the economy and financial markets. Prior to S&P Global, Bovino was an equity strategy research analyst at Sungard Institutional Brokerage Company and served in similar roles at UBS Warburg and the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.

The Wall Street Journal recognized Bovino as the most accurate forecaster of the U.S. economy in 2013, and the second-most accurate forecaster of the U.S. economy in 2018. The YWCA honored Bovino for her work on women in the workforce, inducting her into their YW Academy of Women Leaders at their 45th Salute Luncheon in 2018. Bovino holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, a master's degree in International and Development Economics from Yale University and a Ph.D. in Economics from Columbia University. She lives in New York.
